We are searching for an engaging, courteous barista to work in our flagship retail space, who is passionate about food, beverage preparation and education. The barista will greet customers, answer their questions, take orders, accept payments and prepare and serve food and drinks. You will also maintain a clean and well-stocked workspace and dining area, update displays, and continuously expand your knowledge of food and beverage quality controls, preparation methods and presentation.
Barista Responsibilities:
- Selling coffee, tea blends and brewing equipment while highlighting the differences between items and educating customers about brewing methods.
- Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions and accepting orders and payments.
- Preparing foods, such as sandwiches or baked goods, and grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea and serving items to customers.
- Packaging food and beverages for sale.
- Cleaning and restocking work and dining areas, emptying trash and sanitizing equipment and utensils.
- Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation and presentation techniques to improve food quality. Updating signage and displays to attract customers.
- Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables or behind the counter.
- Working as part of a fun, high-energy team.
- Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.
Barista Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service preferred.
- Training and willingness to continue learning about food and beverage preparation.

- Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays.

We are looking for a hard-working prep cook to work in our flagship butcher shop. The candidate is responsible for setting up workstations in the kitchen and preparing ingredients for the cooking process. The prep cook is required to perform basic cooking duties, monitor stock levels, and take on culinary tasks as they arise. The prep cook should understand and be willing to comply with food and sanitation guidelines and regulations, be quick and diligent, and be willing to improve on the job. A top-notch prep cook should be able to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
Prep Cook Responsibilities
- Setting up and sanitizing workstations.
- Following prep lists created by the General Manager.
- Measuring ingredients and seasonings to prepare for the cooking of soup, stock and bread to be used in the cooking process.
- Preparing simple dishes, such as sandwiches or salads.
- Ensuring all food items are properly stored and easily accessible.
- Assisting the General Manager and meat/fish cutter in preparing food and attending to any culinary tasks that arise.
- Distributing plates to wait staff to be served, cleaning plates for dishwashing, and preparing takeaway packages for customers.
- Supervising food and cooling room temperatures.
- Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen.
- Preparing drinks and cocktails according to the chef’s specifications.
Prep Cook Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Culinary school training would be advantageous.
- Experience as a prep cook may be advantageous.
- Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools, such as knives.

Butchers prepare standard and specialty cuts of meat, poultry, fish and shellfish for sale in our retail and wholesale food venues. Meat/fish cutters will head their own department but will have an apprentice/preparation chef working along side them to work as a cohesive unit.
Job duties
- Cut, trim, bone and otherwise prepare custom and/or standard cuts of meat, poultry, fish and shellfish for sale at walk up counter and customs pre-orders.
- Prepare meat/fish/seafood for special displays and/or delivery.
- Shape, lace and tie roasts and other meats, poultry or fish and may wrap or package fresh or frozen or prepared meats.
- Manage inventory, keep records of sales and determine amount, product line and freshness of products according to company and customer requirements.
- Adhere to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and food safety standards.
- Ensure food storage conditions are adequate.
- May supervise, direct work or train other butchers, meat cutters or fishmongers.
- Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting.
- Weigh meats for sale.
- Cut poultry into parts.
- Clean and prepare fish and shellfish.
- Sell meats to customers.
- Cut fish into steaks and fillets.
- Grind meats.
